Are you looking for a chance to get away? Maybe you know what kind of holiday you want, a relaxing beach experience, but you’re not sure where. People wrongly assume that beach holidays are all the same, but we’re here to prove that there is something unique to all our beach choices. Take a look at our beach picks to see why we think they are the best.
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is the best of both worlds when it comes to getaways. A lot of us have trouble choosing between relaxing on the beach for a solid amount of time or going into a major European city and soaking up the culture, shopping, museums, etc. of the city. With Barcelona, you don’t need to choose. Spend all day taking in the architecture that looks like an absurdist painting, or some real absurdist paintings at the Museu Picasso, and then head to the beach for a well-earned break and a drink as you see fit.
Lanzarote, Spain
Yes, this is yet another Spanish beach, but as we’ve already mentioned, there are so many to choose from under the Spanish flag. But the difference for Lanzarote and the other Canary Islands is that geographically, they are actually a lot closer to Africa than Europe. This makes it a great option for an off-peak holiday since the sun never seems to tame or go away. You can arrive in November and still experience temperatures in the late 20s. And all of the Canary Islands are places that enjoy a thriving tourist market, which means you’re likely to experience a great time with all the amenities, restaurants, hotels, and bars you could want.
Tel Aviv, Israel
There is nothing like heading to the beach in Tel Aviv. For one thing, there are a number of secret beaches in Tel Aviv that will reward you for seeking them out with a new level of peace, rarely seen views, and different activities like cave exploring and foodie spots.
That’s all without mentioning the gorgeous city of Tel Aviv, which hosts an abundance of cultural experiences. Visit the Jaffa Old City and see the golden dome for yourself. Visit the Tel Aviv Museum of Art or various markets and restaurants for a meal by the coastal sunset.
Cyprus in its entirety
Cyprus is an island nation, which means there is an abundance of options when it comes to coastal destinations. Its greatest attractions are its beautiful beaches that range from fine sand to craggy rocks. Enjoy boat trips, cave wandering, and hiking around the coastal cliffs. If you venture onto the mainland again, you’ll come across lots of runes, like the Tombs of the Kings, that are bound to excite even the most low-key history buff.
Santorini, Greece
You haven’t seen white until you’ve seen the Greek islands. Santorini is the epitome of this as its distinctive home décor style of white stone buildings with bright blue roofs is only enhanced by the bright sun on it. They are matched by the beaches where the yellow sand is turned white under the sun and the blue sea deepens in color and volume. When you’re not on the beach, wander through winding streets between the buildings and visit the beautiful churches.
